Against the odds, Mitzi & Mr Wobbles made it — now they need you
Mr Wobbles (orange and white) and Mitzi (grey and white) were rescued at the beginning of May, along with five other kittens, after a woman caring for them reached out for help. She had taken in five pregnant stray cats, who between them had 15 kittens while living in her conservatory. She did her best for them, but didn't have the experience needed to care for so many — and by the time she asked for help, eight kittens had already passed away. Our team stepped in to take the survivors before any more were lost.
When we collected them, they were far sicker than we'd expected: malnourished, underweight, and suffering from bad eye infections. We took them straight to the vet for treatment.
Mr Wobbles has cerebellar ataxia, which gives him his wonky, wobbly gait. Mitzi is partially sighted, but she settled into her new environment immediately — she couldn't have mapped her surroundings so quickly otherwise, which suggests she has some degree of sight.
Since then, both have come on leaps and bounds: Mr Wobbles now weighs 2.83kg and Mitzi 2.10kg, and they're being neutered this Friday.
Both cats are incredibly friendly, playful, and an absolute joy. They are still in Cyprus and looking for direct adoption into an indoor home. It would be wonderful if they could be adopted together, though it isn't essential.
